“Caring for Straddie”

A visit to Straddie is one of life’s simple pleasures, and it is in all our interests to protect and preserve what we cherish the most.

The various individual owners of Clayton’s on Cylinder are all committed to their properties being as environmentally sustainable as possible.

To that end the Clayton’s complex is in the process of upgrading:

  • shower roses to low flow
  • waste recycling efforts
  • replacing light bulbs with low energy options
  • providing environmentally responsible cleaning products
  • access to push bikes for transport around the island
  • a number of further measures including monitoring water usage are currently being evaluated

In addition, visitors to this pristine environment need to consider:

  • noise pollution – keep it down so others can enjoy as well
  • walk or ride a bike around Point Lookout
  • keep your after beach shower to three minutes
  • dispose of your rubbish in the recycling and general waste bins provided
  • Say no to plastic bags, and if you have no choice make sure they are put in the general waste bin!

Help us to Care for Straddie!
